Gothic Westminster Abbey near the Palace of Westminster London is the coronation site for the British monarchs. King Henry III started construction in 1245 and the site has been prominent in British history ever since. Along with more modern monarchs, both King Harold of England and William the Conqueror were crowned here. Westminster Abbey is also home to Poet’s Corner the final resting place of some of the nation’s most revered poets. Actual stamped image is shown.
